I think instead of having three different stories going at once I would love to just read and finish one story. I don't mind waiting days in between but I find that after each chapter or character sheet I just want more more more more!
Jeff, have you considered creating a Section in your stack for each piece you’re currently running so that readers can opt in or out of genres they want? I don’t do horror, pretty much on principle, but love me a good speculative scifi or fantasy, and historical depending on the time frame.
My point being, it’s confusing for me to track three stories at once when I’m not actively reading all of them. But if I could opt in or out of the stories I want to follow, it would be easier to prioritize them because I know that if it’s showing up in my inbox, I’m invested in it.
I have been thinking about this for a while, I guess it's time to act on it! Thank you for bringing it back to my attention. Initially I was worried that new readers would be confused with different sections, however I think your point makes it clear that it hurts my 'stack more than helps it by having it all on one.
I can say that I am probably not the target audience, but... more frequent pieces that are shorter are great for me. I can read something that's like 200 words or whatever pretty much every day, from everyone I subscribe to, and it's sort of like a quick check in for me.
And, of course, Macabre Mondays - let's keep that going no matter what!
I'm not sure I can manage to make my posts that short. I already severely cut them down from 2500/3000 words to 500/750 words. It's definitely an idea I can play around with though.
I enjoy the choose fiction very much but maybe one storyline could be a typical story where the author chooses the action and then another story could be a choose fiction
I also look at other people's content but when I find an author I like I stick to them. So whereas I appreciate you wanting to expose the readers to more content I'm following you and reading about you cuz I like what you do

Macabre Monday is going nowhere! Ever!
You will have my attention for every one of those at a minimum, my friend!
